The
Beginning
Following years spent watching motorsport from
the sidelines and contenting myself with track
days and road car tuning at a pastime level,
I entered into karting and raced for 2 years
in the Kartworld Pro-kart championship.
Having finished in championship positions 4th
and 7th in those consecutive years, and experiencing
some frustrating kart failures along the way,
I shied away from my initial instinct to upgrade
to a ‘Rotax’ kart series and instead
opted to enter the Caterham Roadsport Academy
championship in 2003.
Car racing had long been a passion of mine and
having obtained my MSA ‘National B’
Race license I mounted my campaign on the world
of Caterham racing!

A
Podium Finish!
I finished the Academy championship 3rd overall.
25 drivers competed over 8 rounds. With a worst
finish of 7th and a best of 2nd I came away
delighted but with a 1st place race win to aim
for! 1st and 2nd honours went to Mike Richards
and Nathan Bell respectively.
For 2004 I upgraded the car to Roadsport B specification
entering this Caterham championship along with
a grid of around 30 drivers. I finished the
season in 2nd place at the end of a dramatic
final weekend which literally saw the championship
decided at the line! My adversary Mike Blackadder
took the championship by a hard fought single
point with John Aylott taking 3rd.
This Year
For 2005 I have again upgraded the car and will
be competing in the Motorsport News Caterham
Roadsport Inter championship. Check the results
page for my progress!
My friend and adversary from the 2003 Academy
year, Mike Richards, will be partnering me through
the season; look for us under the Entrant Name
Yellowcage Racing at the forthcoming events.
